Description
A cattle owner, Adam Brite, sets off in 1871 for his second drive of 2,500 cattle northward along the Chisolm trail from San Antonio, Texas to Dodge City, Kansas. From the start he is confronted with problems of selecting a group of riders to assist him. Most of those he selects are penniless following the Civil War. He encounters problems between his
foreman and a young girl member of his crew, and conflicts with cattle rustlers and challenges from natural phenomena including weather, river crossings, floods, rough terrain and conflicts with Indians.
