Ace Comics was one of the first comic books in what became the Golden Age of the genre.  Each issue carried a "dramatic feature."  For the first ten issues, Tex Thorne was that feature.  He appeared with some of the greatest of all time such as Krazy Kat, Jungle Jim, Blondie, and Barnie Google.  Every issue contained the famous Ripley's Believe It or Not.  After ten issues, Tex Thorne was replaced with The Phantom.

In nine of the issues, Romer Grey is credited with writing the script.  Zane Grey is listed as the author of one other cartoon.  It is possible that they employed a ghost writer.  The cartoonist was Allen Dean.

All of the Tex Thorne features were reprints from the newspaper strips syndicated by King Features Syndicate/Stephen Slesinger, Inc.

The cover of Issue 1 is provided above.  The following images are from the nine other Ace Comics that included Tex Thorne.
