Upriver with Frank
After a good night's sleep in the cabin, R.C. Grey describes the difficult, but magnificent trip upriver. “The next day, despite rain, we pushed on up the river… There were places where our guides had to pole the boats… Brush and timber crowded close to the banks. There were no camping sites in evidence, but Benoit promised us one at a stretch of water called Long Pool. Here was wild rugged country, grim through the mists of rain. Before long we had left the shallower waters behind and the river grew increasingly majestic.” (Outdoor Life, November 1932)
