Grey Fishing Team
Zane Grey brought a team of family and friends with him on his 1929 fishing adventure in Newfoundland. He was joined by:
- R.C. Grey- Zane Grey's brother and adventuring partner for the two mens' entire lives. R.C. was a professional baseball player who once replaced Honus Wagner of the Pirates for a game. He had the good fortune of marrying a wealthy heiress.
- Romer Grey- Zane Grey's son who later ran his own animation and film production businesses as well as continuing his father's writing pursuits.
- Bob Carney- Photographer for this and other Grey adventures. He was a good friend of Romer and later married Zane's daughter, Betty.
- Captain Laurie Mitchell- A fishing guide from Nova Scotia who encouraged Grey to fish the Rock's streams and rivers. He became one of Grey's fishing companions for many years.
- George Takahashi- Grey's cooking and "man Friday" catered to Zane on trips for years. Some consider him to be the best fisherman of the group.
