Avalanche*

"Avalanche" is one of the hardest of Zane Grey's stories to find.  It is the story of Arizona's Tonto Rim where close friends Jake and Verde both fall in love with the same fickle woman and the role an avalanche plays in the tale.  Country Gentleman offered a serial of the story beginning in February 1928.  Our collection offers Parts One and Three of these serials which can be read by clicking on the "Part" in the list to the left. To the best of our knowledge, the story was not published in print form until 1990 when it was published along with another novella under the title Avalanche/The Kidnapping of Rosetta Uvaldo. To the best of knowledge, this title is not available for online reading.
