Wanderer of the Wasteland

Many consider Wanderer of the Wasteland to be among Zane Grey's greatest works.  It tells the story of a man who is haunted by his past who choses to live for many years in the harsh desert where he finally finds answers he seeks within himself.  The novel was published in 1923 by Harper and Brothers.  Their version can be read in its entirety by clicking here.

However, McClure's published the story in twelve parts as a serial between June 1920 and May 1921.  We hope you enjoy reading Wanderer of the Desert as it was first introduced to the world with delightful illustrations by W. Herbert Dunton.
