Among the tragedies that continue to arise in the world today are examples of the genocide, where those in power do their best to totally eliminate populations they despise.  Zane Grey witnessed this happening along the U.S.-Mexican border as the Mexican army drove members of the Yaqui Apache tribe from their traditional lands to the Yucatan where they were enslaved and required to work in dangerous, snake-infested fields.  Their homelands were rich in silver which the Yaqui warriors had defended for years.  The Mexican government's solution was to wipe out the entire tribe."Yaqui" is a story of a Yaqui man who was enslaved in the Yucatan only to ultimately get his revenge.
