The Day of the Beast*

Zane Grey was too old to participate in World War I, but seemed on a social mission to spotlight the challenges faced by veteran's returning from the war.  Several novels addressed this theme.  THE DAY OF THE BEAST was entriely dedicated to this topic. The story was first introduced in serial form in The Country Gentleman, April 1, 1922. In the same year, Harper & Brothers published the story in book form. Our collection includes Parts One, Three and Six of the serial and can be read by clicking on the Part you want to read under the story's title in the list to the left.  Anyone owning a magazine with a subsequent serial is encourage to email info@zgws.org.

The entire novel as published by Harpers can be read by clicking here.
